An Eye From Afar
Hello everyone. This is a sad post, but a happy one. I am sad to say I will not be able to post a photo a day. I am (boo hoo) going on a backpacking trip for the next 6 months (you can read some posts about it here) and I WILL be taking photos every day but will probably not be able to post every day, or even every week sometimes (internet in Malawi, Africa = $6/hr). BUT I will post every couple of weeks and you can always check my:
FLICKR for new photos.
OTHER SITE for travel stories.
Thanks for following me! I promise I will not be gone forever but I will be around a lot less... Also, I will keep up with your blogs from time to time, but forgive me if I don't comment as much. I love your work! Keep it up!

Well...now I can finally show what the secret thing I was making was -- my very first scrap book, as a gift for my friend. It's a little rough around the edges, but was fun to make!
One Hundred Twenty Eight
This weekend was my best friend's baby shower. It was a blast! She loves candy and the colors were yellow and pink. Yummy!

Okay, I know, I know, another ribbon shot. However, I have been SO BUSY doing THIS project that I have not had time to take many photos. Well....I have documented the project, but it's a surprise and I can't put those online... Happy Spring. I love green!

Tiny bubbles..in my wine...make me feel happy...make me feel fine. Or something like that. I like bubbles!

One Hundred Twenty Four
I found this random sign in New Orleans and had to put it as my photo of the day. It's taken with my phone, so it's not great, but it's pretty funny.

One Hundred Twenty Three
My brother and I made dinner...the menu consisted of beans and greens (these peppers went into the beans), salmon, homemade sausages (by my bro and his girlfriend! yummmy!), chicken wings and...my brother's homemade beer. It was good times, great company and awesome food!
One Hundred Twenty Two
My brother and I took a walk around his neighborhood (we are both getting a little too comfortable with the food and the couch lately!). There are SO MANY beautiful flowers in bloom. Most of them were in people's yards, but I don't mind trespassing just a little sometimes. I got some of the bees buzzing around but it was in the sun and just not as nice as this one.
One Hundred Twenty One
This is my brother's dog, Jack. I am NOT a dog person, but he is pretty nice. He gave me LOTS of practice in taking photos of rapidly moving subjects in low light. Thanks Jack!

I was trying so hard to get this shot...but the fence I was attempting to rest my camera on was a little rocky, low and unstable. This is as good as it got. I do like the reflection of the moon on the water but I didn't get the city very clear. Maybe someone can give me a hint...how do you get more detail in the moon?
One Hundred Nineteen
This is a storefront in New Orleans on St. Claude Blvd. I don't think they ever came back after the storm. I do wonder how well they were doing before the storm though...what do you think?
