Wow what a difference between the real camera and the iPhone! I had
another very busy day today remodeling and just got in the shower and
saw this - the droplets on the inside of the curtain with the evening
light in the background.

Today I am helping a friend with a home remodel and don't have time to
take a proper photo. My job = painting molding.

We went to buy King Cakes for Mardi Gras, and while at La Boulangerie, I spotted this bathroom window. Kind of fun...I have a little bit of a fetish with weird glass, ice and water. Oh well. Enjoy and Laissez Le Bon Temps Roulez!

Dude! That's Sweet!
I was going through my google reader and maybe you guys don't know it, but I am an addict. Every day, I get off work and I check to see who has posted new blogs, pictures etc. Well, much to my wonderful surprise, I found out that I am not the only one that does that! And...somebody likes MY blog. Wow. I never thought I could be so excited.
My blog friend Jess who writes the blog, Dude and Sweetie wrote THIS about me. She is pregnant AND funny. And her blog is very cool. She gave me this:
My blog friend Jess who writes the blog, Dude and Sweetie wrote THIS about me. She is pregnant AND funny. And her blog is very cool. She gave me this:
And...because SHE totally made my day, I want to do the same....a few of my favorite blogs:
Lucy's The Elegance of Words She has a great perspective and color and use of lines. One of my favorite photos of hers is this one (not on her blog).
Not just because she gave me a shout out...but Jess has one of the funniest and most heartfelt blogs (see above link for Dude and Sweetie).
Abby's Mom's (I think her name is Rachel) 365 Images. She does great things with light and I love her use of contrast.
Amy Bean, who says she "Pretends to Be a Photographer". Well, I think she IS a photographer! Her photos are very colorful. I love it.
Zo's Have Camera. Will Shoot. Especially her picture today of the piano. It was a winner!
Okay so there are about a dozen more that I really like, but they will have to be included in February's shout out. Keep up the good work everyone. You guys make my days a joy!

Another one of my landlord's fun items. Today is the last day to take advantage of them. This vase is actually VERY colorful, but I liked the way it looks in Black and White - you can see the lines of the design more clearly.

I am moving out of my apartment the day after tomorrow, so was cleaning out my closet and saw this shoe. I don't wear high heels very often, but these ones are the perfect shoe - comfortable, match everything and just the right height!

This is a lamp in my house. I really love the black lines and the gold accessories. I move out in 3 days, so I better maximize my land lord's fun furniture/art options while I can!

I am feeling very uninspired today. I went to the gym, came home and ate a Lean Cuisine (you almost got a photo of that instead!) and am now going to read in bed... I am feeling very tired; I haven't gotten a lot of sleep in the past few days. So, today's picture is of my sink drain. It pretty much portrays my mood.

I almost didn't make it outside today. Its my only day off and I really just wanted to stay in my pjs, drink coffee and watch the travel channel. However, it is a rare day here - it is NOT humid, the sun is shining and the pavement is just waiting to be hit. So I hit it.
I sometimes forget that it is almost Mardi Gras (its Feb 16th) There are beads and banners here year round, but people are going all out now. The parades have already started -- but they will really get going. Every weekend from now until Mardi Gras will be a fiesta. Or I guess a "fete" if we are speaking French.
This photo was taken on Josephine St, right down the street from my house. The beads, as useless as they really are, are full of sparkle and color and so this fence caught my eye.

I finally had a half day off today and so got to go outside while it was still light. I took a walk around my neighborhood, down Camp St. and to the Lafayette Cemetery, which was luckily still open (it's supposed to close at noon on Saturday). With all the marble and mold and the overcast sky, there was very little color. I liked the way the photos turned out, so I had to put three on today.

The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. Not my favorite book ever, but the pages were actually yellowed and worn.

Point Loma. I took a bike ride today...there were a lot of hills and my quads were screaming but the view was totally worth it.

I know in most places this is normal. But this is in New Orleans, at the pond near our office. I have never known ponds to freeze here. It is weird. Just before I took this picture, this duck skidded to a sliding stop. Funny!

Okay, I am caught up for now! This photo I took today at lunch. After I washed my dishes, the sink was still running and I noticed these bubbles forming.

I got a 500 piece puzzle for Christmas, and last night began working on it. I haven't done a puzzle in a long time and 500 pieces, especially when they are all shaped like gumby, is a lot!

Again, I had to cheat a little, as I didn't have an actual photo taken on day 4. This photo is from January 4, 2008. Taken in La Boca, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The tango dancers were very sensuous and the colors of the buildings so cheerful.

On the second, I drove from San Francisco to my Grandmother's house, where we have our annual Christmas party. I had to stop and get this shot, as it was a PERFECTLY clear San Francisco winter day.

I had to cheat a little since I am starting on day 8. This is shot 01, taken in Tahoe. Actually, I took this photo from the passenger seat of the car while my Dad was maneuvering the car over Donner Pass. I love the heaviness of the snow, all the evergreens and the blue sky. A perfect day.
